Weaving Faith, Society, and the Divine Messages
The government, whether federal, state, or city, has a divine as well as fiduciary responsibility to protect not only the lives of its citizens but also their properties and investments so any reckless person or company would not come and destroy them. Normally, they do this protection through the law and police in civil society. God, in his divine wisdom, instituted the government as an institution to maintain order, as without order, there would be anarchy (Roman 13).
The issue between Uber and its drivers and the taxi companies and drivers in our day is like the story of David and Goliath in the Bible. This giant, mighty warrior conqueror and most feared military leader of the Philistines was brought down by David, a lowly shepherd boy with a mere pebble and a sling when God’s truth came out. Similarly, when God’s truth comes out, Uber’s lies, deceit, and illegal operations shall be brought out, and divine justice shall save the taxi industry because they have not got a fair deal.
